A Morning on the Beach

I don’t think this soldier crab was too impressed by my presence. After all, he’d had the sunshine and waves all to himself before I came along with my camera.

Maybe I interrupted the morning changing of the guard. I wonder how it feels to have claws of different sizes?

It’s not often I see a gull eating something it’s actually caught, rather than scavenged from someone eating fish and chips. In the photo at the end of the blog are some washed-up blue-bottles, bane of a summer swim when the currents change and they are washed in from out at sea. Even dead on the beach they can still sting.

Jelly fish come in sizes and shapes As kids we called these ones jelly-blubbers. He seemed as happy as a jelly fish can be when we popped him back in the water.
